“In today’s market if you want to differentiate yourself you have to be proprietary, and that means you can have your own genetics or you can have a combination that others don’t have.” Dana Eaton of GreenLeaf Genetics
“We realize that [recruitment] is a challenge today. Our land grant universities have budget issues that are impacting them on a regular basis so the companies have to play a more active role.” Andy LaVigne of the American Seed Trade Association

Be One of a Million Helping Hands The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications has recently launched a campaign to reach a goal of one million Crop Biotech Update (CBU) subscribers by December 31, 2010. In collaboration with its current CBU weekly email subscribers, ISAAA aims to enhance the global distribution of the CBU to one million in order to inform more people about crop biotechnology. From October 29 until the end of the year, ISAAA is awarding bronze replicas of the Dr. Norman E. Borlaug Congressional Medal to 30 lucky subscribers, three every week. The bronze medal was minted by the U.S. Mint of the Department of Treasury. The idea is that spreading knowledge will help fight hunger.
