Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont, announced plans today to rename Vellozine active to Reklemel active, effective immediately. Reklemel is a novel sulfonamide nematicide with a unique mode of action against plant-parasitic nematodes, which differentiates it from other nematicides on the market.
Reklemel will be a core component of integrated nematode management programs offered by Corteva Agriscience. This true nematicide has no insecticidal or fungicidal activity, making it a highly-effective nematode control solution that provides a more favorable environmental and toxicological profile than conventional treatments.
Reklemel protects crop roots without compromising beneficial arthropods, pollinators and organisms in the soil.
“Farmers have told us they needed a better solution for nematode control, and we listened. Reklemel offers control unlike any other nematicide on the market today,” says Santosh Mangalam, global portfolio leader – Insecticides & Nematicides. “It helps farmers care for their crop, their land and the people who work on their land.”
This newly-named active ingredient is anticipated to be launched in product formulations globally, starting in 2021 in North America and Asia Pacific.
Reklemel is a complementary addition to Corteva Agriscience’s active ingredients, joining Arylex active, Isoclast active, Pyraxalt active, Inatreq, Rinskor active and Zorvec active, as part of one of the most robust portfolios in the industry.
