The Seed Innovation and Protection Alliance will host a technical education unit that focuses on intellectual property (IP) June 19 in Portland, Ore., in conjunction with the American Seed Trade Association’s annual meeting.
Participants will learn the basics about the systems in place for maintaining IP from James Weatherly, SIPA executive director. Weatherly will also provide an overview of SIPA and its activities. Additionally, Dan Cox and Jeff Masson of Thompson Coburn LLP will spotlight specific issues related to maintaining IP. During the last part of the program, the Federal Bureau of Investigations will discuss economic espionage and what to be on the look out for.
