Yara Hires New Agronomic Services Manager

Dr. Helga Miehle (P.Ag.) recently joined Yara North America as manager, agronomic services for Canada. She brings more than 20 years of experience as an agronomist, consultant and research & development leader.

Helga earned her Ph.D. in agronomy at the Institute of Genetics, University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany. She came to Prince Edward Island with her family at the end of 2012 and has worked for more than three years as a research agronomist and consultant on PEI. She has gained local experience mainly within the processing potato industry and recently accepted an appointment as a 1st year councillor to the PEI Institute of Agrologists.

With potatoes as a key Canadian crop and one of great importance to Yara, Helga is able to bring very relevant expertise to the market and to growers of this and other crops.

“Yara has a strong portfolio of premium offering fertilizers that are of great benefit to potatoes and other important crops throughout Canada,” says Helga. “YaraLiva calcium nitrate products and YaraVita foliar and micronutrients are excellent tools and I look forward to sharing with the Canadian growers our research, experience and knowledge.”

She is home based in Cornwall, PEI, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
