Missouri-based yield benchmarking service FarmLink hires Dave Gebhardt as its chief strategy officer for data products and agronomy.
Formerly the director of agronomic data and technology at WinField, a Land O’Lakes company, Gebhardt will lead efforts at FarmLink to identify innovative data analytics products and solutions that improve the profitability and sustainability of the food chain, from the field to grocery aisle. Combining his agronomic knowledge with FarmLink’s unique data set and powerful analytics platform, the company seeks to broaden its investment in innovation and talent, expanding the benefits of agriculture benchmarking — a technology category the company first established last year.
In addition to his role at WinField, Gebhardt has spent more than 20 years in the agriculture industry in various plant genetics, agronomy and technology roles at Coors Brewing Company, DuPont Pioneer and GreenLeaf Genetics. He earned a Bachelor of Science in agronomy from Iowa State University, and a master’s and doctorate in plant breeding and genetics from the University of Minnesota. He grew up on a family farm in southeastern Minnesota that remains operational today.
