In just a few short weeks, from 19–22 October, the European seed sector will gather in Edinburgh, Scotland for what promises to be the most impactful edition of the Euroseeds Congress yet. Already, more than 1,000 participants have registered: a clear sign of the excitement and importance surrounding this year’s event.
Following the tremendous success of last year’s congress in Copenhagen, which brought together nearly 1,300 delegates, Euroseeds2025 is set to raise the bar once again, offering a unique mix of policy dialogue, cutting-edge innovation, and world-class networking.
Expect a Premium Venue For a Premium Event
This year’s congress will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), a state-of-the-art venue with top-class exhibition halls, modern meeting rooms, and vibrant networking spaces. Exhibitors will also benefit from the new Premium Exhibitor Package, tailored to maximise visibility and engagement throughout the congress.
A Programme That Meets the Moment
The agenda is designed to tackle the most pressing issues shaping the seed sector today. From geopolitics, protectionism, and seed sovereignty to the future of EU-UK collaboration, delegates will explore how global developments are reshaping trade and regulation in Europe.
Sessions will also highlight:
- The evolving policy frameworks for Novel Genomic Techniques (NGTs) and their role in food security and sustainability;
- Updates on intellectual property rights for plant varieties and biotech inventions;
- The implementation of the EU Vision for Agriculture and how the seed sector contributes to resilience and sustainability.
Innovation: The Common Thread
The Euroseeds InnovAction Stage returns in Edinburgh, showcasing breakthrough solutions from start-ups, SMEs, and collaborations across the seed value chain.
A new highlight this year is the Euroseeds2025 InnovActor Award, which will shine a light on game-changing innovations in:
- Seed production technologies;
- Tools for precision seed quality analysis;
- High-tech cleaning and sorting systems;
- Drying and storage solutions.
Finalists will present their projects live during the congress, competing for a visibility package worth €15,000, including a free congress registration and a Seed World Europe interview.
NEW at Euroseeds2025: The NextGen Forum
This year we are proud to launch the very first NextGen Forum, a dedicated space for Master’s, PhD students and postdocs to connect with the seed industry leaders, explore career paths in the seed sector, and exchange ideas in an open and informal setting.
Taking place on 22 October, the Forum will bring together young academics from Edinburgh’s top universities and senior representatives from across the industry.
Edinburgh: A City of Literature, Learning and Life Sciences
Beyond the programme, Euroseeds2025 offers the opportunity to experience Edinburgh’s unique atmosphere. With its historic skyline, cobblestone streets, and vibrant cultural life, the city provides the perfect setting to mix business with inspiration. Edinburgh is not only a cultural capital, home to world-renowned authors from Sir Walter Scott and to J.K. Rowling, but also a hub of agricultural research and innovation.
Scotland has long played a pioneering role in plant breeding, seed production, and agricultural science, making it an ideal host city for the conversations that will shape the future of European and global agriculture. It is also renowned for its barley and wheat production, key ingredients of Scotland’s world-famous whisky, linking agriculture directly with one of the nation’s most celebrated cultural exports. Delegates will be able to enjoy both the richness of Scottish tradition and the dynamism of a modern centre of agricultural excellence.
Why Should You Be There?
