USDA to Distribute Over $2.14 Billion in Conservation and Safety-Net Payments

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced plans to distribute more than $2.14 billion in payments to eligible agricultural producers and landowners.
The funds, issued through key conservation and safety-net programs, aim to support natural resource conservation and help keep family farms economically sustainable. Payments will be made through USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), with the bulk allocated to the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) and other essential risk management initiatives.

China Approves 30 GM Maize and Soybean Varieties

China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has granted final approval for 30 genetically modified (GM) maize and soybean varieties, marking a significant advancement in the country’s agricultural biotechnology.
The approval comes after these varieties passed the assessment of the China National Crop Variety Registration Committee (CNCVRC), according to the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service’s Global Agricultural Information Network report.
