CONICET, AAPRESID Partner to Advance Ag Tech

At the 2025 Congress of the Argentine Association of Direct Seeding Producers (AAPRESID), the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and AAPRESID signed a scientific and technological cooperation agreement to advance innovative projects through AAPRESID’s Chacras System program. The initiative aims to promote sustainable crop intensification (SCI) and address the evolving needs of agricultural producers.

The congress also recognized the winners of the scientific poster competition, which showcased research and developments aligned with current challenges in agriculture across various thematic areas, according to apress release.

During the event, CONICET president Daniel Salamone emphasized the importance of the agreement with AAPRESID.

“This agreement signed with AAPRESID reinforces our commitment to the public-private articulation for agricultural innovation,” Salamone said. “CONICET mobilizes its scientific and technological capacities together with the Chacras System program, to give concrete answers to the challenges of producers. This alliance consolidates strategic links that enhance the sustainable development of the country and the transfer of technology from science to the countryside.”

During the event, Salamone, alongside AAPRESID officials, presented awards across various scientific poster categories. He praised the research and innovation showcased, congratulating the researchers for their contributions.

“From AAPRESID we believe that innovation is in network, articulating producers, companies and scientists and specialists from entities such as CONICET, an institution that has an academic level of excellence,” the head of AAPRESID, Marcelo Torres, said. “This agreement with CONICET facilitates the arrival of outstanding experts in the most diverse disciplines, not only Agronomics, and opens the doors to new fields of knowledge potentially applicable to Agriculture and very necessary in today’s world.”

AAPRESID’s Chacras System is a work program focused on developing sustainable agricultural technologies tailored to the diverse conditions of different environments and production systems. It serves as a platform for knowledge generation and transfer, as well as human resource training, through its two components: Chacras and Thematic Networks.

At the signing ceremony, CONICET was represented by Board member for agricultural organizations José María Bruniard, Technological Linkage manager Tomás Mazzieri, and Institutional Relations director Alejandro Dabrowski. From AAPRESID, deputy director of the R&D Program Guillermo Rivetti and program manager Andrés Madias participated. Also in attendance was Nicolás Pino, president of the Argentine Rural Society.
