American Seed Trade Association president Andrew LaVigne opened today’s general session of the 2015 CSS & Seed Expo with a reminder to attendees that they play a crucial role in telling the story of one of the most important industries on Earth — the seed industry.
“What we do on a daily basis — getting dressed, eating breakfast, spending time with family — starts with seed. Somewhere back there, it began with a seed in the form of feed, fuel and fiber,” LaVigne said. “You are the center of all this. Please remember that. We have a great story to tell.”
One way that story is begin told is through student posters in the ASTA Innovations Lounge, a new feature of this year’s CSS & Seed Expo. ASTA is proud to feature agriculture graduate student poster presentations from across North America. Posters will be displayed in the ASTA Innovations Lounge in Grand Ballroom E/F until Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Then be sure to visit the Seed Expo on Thursday for ASTA’s “Seed the Future” complimentary lunch reception with students from 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. You will have a chance to vote for your favourite posters, and doing so will enter you to win a $300 Visa gift card on Thursday inside the Exhibit Hall.
