Chris Davison Hired as New Canola Council of Canada President

Chris Davison has been hired as the new Canola Council of Canada (CCC) president and CEO, a July 11 news release said.

“Chris brings a deep background in the industry, as well as a great passion for and commitment to the future growth of the sector,” Jennifer Marchand, chair of the CCC board of directors, said in the release. “We are delighted to have him lead the CCC and continue to build on the strength of our partnership across the canola value chain.”

Davison first joined CCC vice-president of stakeholder and industry relations in August 2021. Before working at CCC he had held leadership roles with several organizations, most recently with Syngenta as head of business sustainability for North America. The release noted Davison has more than 25 years of experience in the agriculture sector, including work in the areas of public and regulatory affairs, and government and industry relations.

“I’m honoured and thrilled with the opportunity to take on this role and to continue working with the tremendous staff and board at the CCC,” Davison said. “This is a very dynamic and exciting time for the canola industry, and I look forward to working collaboratively with our members and other stakeholders to continue to drive the industry forward.”

Davison will be assumed the president and CEO role starting on July 31, 2023.
