Christophe Gaillochet brings experience in plant molecular biology, biotechnology and genome editing to the European seed sector.

Euroseeds has welcomed Christophe Gaillochet as its new manager of plant breeding innovation.

Gaillochet joined Euroseeds in June 2026 and brings broad experience in plant molecular biology and biotechnology, including several years focused on developing genome editing technologies for plants in both academic and industrial settings.

Background in Plant Science and Biotechnology

Gaillochet is French and holds a Ph.D. in Biosciences from the University of Heidelberg.

He began his career as a postdoctoral researcher at the Salk Institute in San Diego before joining the Vlaams Institute for Biotechnology (VIB) in Ghent, where he contributed to a collaborative genome editing project with BASF.

He later moved to the U.K. to work at startup Phytoform Labs as lead genome editing specialist. Most recently, he served as a research officer at Limagrain Field Seeds in France.

Supporting Plant Breeding Innovation

In his new role, Gaillochet will support Euroseeds’ work on plant breeding innovation and contribute his expertise to the organization’s efforts on behalf of the European seed sector.
