UpTick Coreopsis Wins “Best New” Plant Award

UpTick coreopsis features large flowers with distinctive colors.

Darwin Perennials’ new coreopsis series UpTick accepted the “Best New Nursery Stock Plant Introduction” award from the judges at this year’s Four Oaks Trade Show in the United Kingdom.

This prestigious award highlights innovation and excellence in horticulture, and is evaluated by an industry panel. According to the judges, they were impressed with UpTick’s “continual flowering, good habit, shape and flower size.”

UpTick coreopsis features large flowers with distinctive colors. It blooms earlier and longer for gardeners to enjoy spring through fall. The series’ tidy, mounded habit ships well and holds at retail and in the perennial garden. It is hardy through USDA Zone 5.

The Four Oaks award adds to the accolades given to the UpTick series since debuting at California Spring Trials. In July the series received a Medal Of Excellence Industry’s Choice award at Cultivate’16. UpTick has also scored well at trials across the country, including Costa in Miami, Florida, and the University of Georgia, where it earned a “Plants Of Distinction” mention this summer.

“Darwin Perennials is glad to see the industry respond so positively to the UpTick series,” says Mike Klopmeyer, general manager for Darwin Perennials. “Our product team was confident it would impress the industry, and these awards cement our excitement for its introduction to the marketplace.”
