What makes someone a Difference Maker in flower and vegetable seed?
Ask a breeder, a seed production manager and a commercial director, and you’ll probably hear three very different answers. One might point to a breakthrough in disease resistance. Another might value an improvement in seed quality that’s made a measurable difference to customers. A third might recognize someone who’s opened up an entirely new market.
All three would have a point.
There’s a remarkable range of expertise behind the flower and vegetable seed industry, and just as many ways for someone to make a meaningful contribution.
That’s what makes Seed World’s 2027 Veg & Flower Difference Makers recognition program interesting. We’re looking beyond any single definition of success to recognize people whose work has made a difference, whether through scientific advances, practical improvements, commercial achievements or exceptional leadership.
And we want the industry’s input.
Who has impressed you with what they’ve accomplished? Whose decisions have made a difference? Whose work would make an interesting story for other flower and vegetable seed professionals?
Here’s an opportunity to give that person some well-deserved recognition.
Selected Difference Makers will be featured in Seed World U.S. in February 2027, sharing their achievements and the stories behind them with colleagues and industry leaders across the seed sector.
Nominating someone is straightforward. Tell us who you’d like to recognize, what they’ve accomplished and why it matters. You don’t need to put together a polished submission. We’re interested in the substance of their contribution, in your own words.
Who would you like to see recognized?
Nominations close November 4, 2026.
