Syngenta Releases Miravis Era Fungicide in Canada

Syngenta has launched Miravis Era fungicide, which protects wheat crops Fusarium head blight, in Canada, a Jan. 27 news release says. The company also announced the label expansion of Miravis Neo and Miravis Ace fungicides.

Miravis Neo has been expanded to include cereals and soybeans, while Miravis Ace now offers coverage for oats and barley, the release says.

The release notes Miravis Era has the ingredients Adepidyn, a group seven fungicide, and Prothioconazole, a group three fungicide. Small plot trials conduced by Syngenta Canada found that when Miravis Era was applied on wheat it resulted in an average deoxynivalenol (DON) suppression of 50 per cent. Miravis Era will be available in limited quantities for the 2022 growing season.

Miravis Neo can now be used to protect against a wide range of foliar diseases in cereals (winter wheat, spring wheat and barley), and soybeans. It protects against numerous leaf diseases, including Septoria, tan spot and rust, and offers a wide application window from BBCH 29, 55 (stem elongation to heading). In soybeans it provides broad-spectrum disease control of key diseases including Asian rust, anthracnose and frogeye leaf spot, along with white mould suppression.

Miravis Ace was previously registered in spring wheat, winter wheat and durum, and can now be used on barley and oats. The release notes the label expansion also adds suppression of ergot, in addition to Fusarium head blight suppression.
