I first met the Nexeed team about 12 years ago. Back then I was a field technician with Cimbria, installing optical sorters in seed processing plants around the world. Canada was one of my regular stops, and Nexeed quickly became one of the partners I worked with most closely. Today, as CIMBRIA’s Area Manager of Optical Sorters for America, that relationship is still strong. Here’s why.
It’s about trust, not just equipment
Anyone can sell equipment. Building relationships that last decades is much harder.
When I visit customers with the Nexeed team, I see the confidence they have in them. That’s built over years of solving problems, offering honest advice and standing behind every project.
Nexeed is not just a dealer for Cimbria. They act as a true collaborator. A dealer sells equipment. A collaborator helps create the right solution before, during, and after the sale.
Local knowledge makes the difference
Canada is one of the most advanced seed markets anywhere in the world. The technical knowledge of Canadian seed processors and farmers is exceptional. They don’t just want equipment that works, they want to understand it, optimize it and push it further.
Nexeed understands this market deeply. They know the crops, the expectations, and the day-to-day realities of Canadian seed plants. That local knowledge is valuable for us at Cimbria. Without it, it would be much harder for our team in Italy to design solutions that truly fit Canadian needs.
Their feedback helps us improve our machines and our complete processing lines. Innovation starts by listening to people who work with the equipment every day.
Nexeed has also delivered complex turnkey projects where optical sorting plays a central role in achieving high purity and marketable seed quality. They understand Cimbria’s full range of equipment, from cleaning and conveying to drying, storage, and complete plants, and they use that knowledge to support customers effectively.
How feedback improves our technology
The daily contact Nexeed has with Canadian seed companies gives us direct insight into real operating conditions. This is especially useful for optical sorting, where results depend on crop type, contamination levels, and quality targets.
What we learn in Canada does not stay in Canada. It helps us strengthen solutions for customers in other markets as well.
We have also developed our own AI platform for optical sorters instead of relying on third-party software. This gives us the flexibility to adapt quickly. Our Brain AI technology helps machines detect defects more accurately, sort more precisely, and deliver more consistent quality over time.
But AI only works well when it is guided by real experience. The insights Nexeed shares from Canadian customers help us build smarter systems that perform better in the field.
Looking ahead
Technology is evolving faster than ever, and no company can keep up alone. Strong local partners are essential. After 12 years, I don’t think of Nexeed only as a dealer. I see them as an extension of the Cimbria team.
Customers bring their challenges with Nexeed. Nexeed brings those insights with us. We build better solutions, and those solutions return to customers.
That’s more than a business relationship. And that’s how lasting innovation happens.
