From 6-8 September 2017, Rijk Zwaan will once again be exhibiting at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong. At its stand, the breeding company plans to show visitors how expanding and broadening the fresh produce range in store can help to stimulate overall consumption.
Rijk Zwaan regards Asia Fruit Logistica as the ideal opportunity for exchanging thoughts and ideas with the Asian vegetable chain, and the company will be participating in the event for the eleventh consecutive year in 2017. Once again, the spotlight this year will be on various innovations. For example, Rijk Zwaan is presenting KnoxTM – a natural trait that delays pinking in lettuce. This innovation is expected to provide an extra boost to Asia’s fast-growing fresh-cut segment.
New flavours, shapes and colours
The fresh produce sector in Asia is advancing rapidly in terms of production, processing and sales; consumers are becoming increasingly interested in new flavours, shapes and colours. Rijk Zwaan is responding to this by continuously expanding its product range.
During Asia Fruit Logistica the company will demonstrate areas of huge untapped potential, including within leafy crops, melons and tomatoes. Rijk Zwaan knows from experience that it is possible to increase overall fruit and vegetable consumption by working together with retail partners to analyse and improve their fresh produce ranges.
Congress and knowledge sharing
This approach also forms the central theme of a presentation during Smart Horticulture Asia. On Thursday 7 September Jörg Werner, Business Manager at Rijk Zwaan, will hold a presentation about the Retail Center which the company opened in Berlin earlier this year. This dedicated facility is used to gain valuable insights into consumer behaviour through innovative techniques and research.
Furthermore, Rijk Zwaan is a sponsor of the Asia Fruit Congress which takes place on the day before the trade show starts. The congress is another excellent opportunity for inspiration and knowledge sharing.
