AHDB: WeatherHub Features Several Key UK Data Sources

AHDB’s WeatherHub, which was published 16 July 2018, brings together a range of open-source and procured weather-related data.

Across all data sources, the tool includes information on air temperatures, rainfall, relative humidity (RH), sunshine duration, wind speed, soil moisture (at 10, 30 and 60cm depths), soil temperature and solar radiation.

AHDB uses weather data for a variety of purposes, including within its Recommended Lists trials and for disease monitoring. Although designed primarily for use by AHDB staff and contractors, the information has been made freely available for anyone to access.

The weather data, which is sourced from the MetOffice, Agrii, the Environment Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, can be interrogated on the site.

Various weather-related data, locations and timeframes can be selected for analysis. Results are displayed within a series of interactive charts.

The tool can be accessed at cereals.ahdb.org.uk/weatherhub
