At the American Seed Trade Association’s 2019 Vegetable and Flower Seed Conference in Orlando, Florida, Julie Deering sat down with Aaron Whaley, president of A.P. Whaley Seed Company. They discussed two of A.P. Whaley’s new hybrid tomato varieties that won AAS awards this year, and Whaley says that flavor is their top priority when developing new varieties for home gardeners. This year, A.P. Whaley is turning their focus to peppers — they’re growing about 30 varieties of peppers.
