The United Kingdom left the European Union on January 31, 2020 and is in a transitionary period until December 31, 2020. Brexit will have consequences for holders of EU Plant Variety Rights and applicants for Plant Variety Rights in both the EU and UK. There are also changes to trademarks which will impact some plant breeders and growers.
