Groundwork BioAg Appoints Ben Parrott as US Sales Manager

Agronomist and seasoned sales executive Ben Parrott will lead U.S. Sales for Groundwork BioAg, effective immediately. In this newly created position, Parrott will apply his strong reputation among ag retailers and growers and his decade of experience working as a crop advisor, with an emphasis on soil health, to expand growers’ access to the company’s unique mycorrhizal inoculant platform.

“As we continue to grow globally, ensuring a direct line of communication with our distribution partners and growers in the US is key,” said Hanan Dor, CCO at Groundwork BioAg. “In 2021, we accelerated production of Rootella mycorrhizal inoculants as farmers seek alternatives to synthetic fertilizers. Ben’s commitment and strong relationships in agriculture will enable us to grow even faster and meet our customers’ needs.”

Growing up in a farming family in Iowa, Parrott understands the complexity of managing a profitable commodity crop operation today. As a certified crop advisor and experienced agronomist, with emphasis in fertilizer and soil health, Parrott has worked closely with farmers to develop nutrient management plans for continued growth, by integrating specialty fertilizers and regenerative practices into large farm operations. Throughout his career as an agronomist, he has worked with major seed companies, land-grant universities and farmers across the Midwest. Parrott earned a Bachelor of
Science in Business Management from Northwest Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Iowa State University.

“While many advancements have been made in the last decade, farmers want innovation that will help them protect their most valuable asset, their land,” said Parrott. “At Groundwork BioAg, I can continue to bring new tools to farmers to help them improve the overall profitability and sustainability of their operations.”

Based in Carroll, IA, Parrott joins Groundwork BioAg’s Ohio-based team, which was established in 2016 to support corn and soybean customers in the States.

The company’s flagship product, Rootella, is an industry leading mycorrhizal inoculant that promotes yield and improves sustainability by reducing dependency on phosphorus fertilizer and improving carbon sequestration in soil. Through distribution partnerships across five continents, Groundwork BioAg is helping farmers improve the efficiency and profitability of major crop production, including corn, soybeans, grains, bio-energy crops, and vegetables.
