AGCO announces collaboration with Iowa Soybean Research Center at Iowa State University

AGCO Corporation, an international leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, today announced its association with the Iowa Soybean Research Center at Iowa State University as an industry advisor. In this role, AGCO provides financial support to the center and will have a representative serving on the ISRC’s industry advisory council, which provides guidance on research funding priorities for the center.

“AGCO is eager to work with the Iowa Soybean Research Center at Iowa State University. Collaborating on their research to provide smart and innovative technologies that will help farmers achieve their future goals is important,” said Alex Lundgren, product manager, CropCare at AGCO Corporation.

“I am delighted to have AGCO join our center as an industry advisor. They are the first equipment manufacturer and provider to associate with us, and their input on research needs and priorities will be unique and valuable,” said Greg Tylka, director of the Iowa Soybean Research Center and professor of plant pathology and microbiology at Iowa State.

“AGCO is an exciting addition to our group of industry representatives. As research becomes more collaborative in nature, particularly in the arena of agricultural engineering, it is important to have a company such as AGCO at the table. We look forward to their input as we consider new and innovative ways to incorporate equipment technologies that can benefit Iowa’s soybean farmers and help us all reach our shared productivity and sustainability goals,” said Ed Anderson, senior director of research for the Iowa Soybean Association and chair of the Iowa Soybean Research Center’s industry advisory council.

The center is a formal collaboration of Iowa State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the Iowa Soybean Association and industry partners. Together, representatives from ISA and the industry make up the ISRC’s Industry Advisory Council. AGCO joins AMVAC, BASF, Bayer, Cornelius Seed, Corteva Agriscience, FMC, GDM, Innvictis/Simplot, Latham Hi-Tech Seeds, Merschman Seeds, Peterson Genetics, Syngenta and UPL as industry partners for the center.
