Wilbur-Ellis recently announced that Jennifer Convery has joined its board of directors, according to a release.

Convery has extensive experience with the execution of purpose-driven strategies, while exceeding financial targets, making her a commercial and operational leader amongst the food industry. She’s a key piece in the design and development of inclusive organizations that work to overdeliver on customer expectations.

“I’m delighted to welcome Jennifer Convery to the Wilbur-Ellis board of directors,” said John P. Thacher, executive chairman of the Wilbur-Ellis board. “Jennifer is well known as an outstanding executive with a special talent for organizational development and building strong, resilient cultures. She is both strategic and visionary, yet very practical in her approach. We’re very happy to have such an exceptional thought leader join the Wilbur-Ellis board.”

Convery has proven herself in a variety of senior leadership roles, including her time at Griffith Foods, Inc as group president of North America where she led the U.S., Canada and Mexico business units. These three units consistently provided the greatest revenue and profit for Griffith Foods. Convery served on the company’s worldwide leadership team and was instrumental in its development of the company’s purpose-driven strategic plan and successful operation.

Convery has also held various senior sales positions, such as her role of vice president of sales at Griffith Laboratories, USA. Prior to her time at Griffith Foods, she worked in senior sales and marketing management roles for Johnson & Johnson and General Mills.

She attended Brown University where she received a bachelor’s degree in history before continuing her education at the Kellogg School of Management and Harvard Business School. Convery is also a member of Dot Foods and HAMRA Enterprises’ board of directors and received Crain’s Chicago Business Magazine’s Top 50 Women Executives Over 50 Award twice.

“I am so pleased to be joining the Wilbur-Ellis board of directors,” shared Convery of her new role. “Wilbur-Ellis has set its course — to be a leading marketer, distributor and manufacturer in food and agriculture markets, primarily in North America. I know these markets well, and I’m honored to play a role in driving that business strategy forward. I’m also looking forward to providing leadership as the company continues to build an empowering and inclusive culture, strengthens its relationships with customers, suppliers and industry leaders and embraces sustainability in everything we do.”
