The annual event will take place Dec. 7-10, 2026, after three years in Orlando.
The American Seed Trade Association’s (ASTA) Field Crop Seed Convention (FCSC) will return to Chicago this winter after three years in Orlando.
The convention will be held Dec. 7-10, 2026, at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk. Registration is now open.
Returning to the Midwest
Chicago hosted FCSC for 77 years before the convention moved to Orlando in 2023. ASTA said feedback from member companies, exhibitors and attendees contributed to the decision to bring the event back to the Midwest.
“Chicago is where this industry built its legacy. My theme as Chair this year is about honoring that legacy while looking ahead to what’s next,” said Bryan Gerard, ASTA 2026-27 Chair. “Bringing FCSC back to the Midwewst recognizes the history this industry has made here — a fitting backdrop for a meeting focused on where we’ve been, where we are today, and where we’re going.”
The convention brings together seed industry professionals from more than 27 countries, including representatives of companies and organizations involved in producing seed for food, feed, fibre and fuel production.
Speakers and Educational Sessions
Former NFL player and farmer Jason Brown will deliver the keynote address. Agricultural economist Dan Basse will also return to present his global agriculture forecast.
Educational sessions will examine artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, policy and regulatory developments, market trends and other issues affecting the seed and agriculture industries.
Meetings and Exhibits
The program will include interactive sessions, business meetings, receptions and other networking events. An exhibit hall will feature products, technologies and services for the seed and agriculture sectors.
“FCSC is where the row crop sector comes together. Whether you’re looking to understand what’s next, build new relationships, or simply be part of the conversation shaping our industry, this is the place to be,” said Andy LaVigne, ASTA President and CEO.
