DuPont has filed a lawsuit against Monsanto over royalties DuPont says it is owed.
According to a brief statement issued to Seed World by DuPont, the company filed a complaint against Monsanto in the Delaware Court of Chancery late last week in order to enforce the terms of a 2012 decision by an arbitration panel that ordered Monsanto to pay DuPont royalties from technology used to develop herbicide-resistant soybeans.
The royalties concern a technology known as Biolistic, a “gene gun” used to inject cells with genetic information.
“Given this litigation is pending, we have no further comment at this time,” DuPont says.
