Verdesian Life Sciences adds Marc Treurniet to the plant health and nutrition company’s management team as vice president of business development.
In this new role, Treurniet will be responsible for providing overall strategic vision, planning and leadership to grow and develop global partnerships and key industry relationships. In doing so, he will identify and leverage new opportunities and multi-national collaborative business development initiatives focused on the long-term growth of Verdesian technologies.
“In this role, Marc brings a unique and global perspective to the Verdesian team,” said Greg Thompson, chief operating officer at Verdesian Life Sciences. “As our business continues to grow and evolve, we recognize the importance of cultivating relationships with our strategic partners. With his extensive experience, from leading the growth of pivotal customer relationships to delivering product concepts through to commercialization, Marc will play a crucial role in our current and future endeavors.”
Prior to joining the Verdesian team, Treurniet was an integral business development leader at companies such as Syngenta and DuPont working in agricultural markets globally. He has a proven track record of anticipating and addressing customer needs and growth expectations. In his most previous role, Treurniet was responsible for the development and implementation of seed treatment business strategy, which included product development needs, marketing and customer-focused commercialization plans. He successfully strengthened customer relationships on a regional, national and international scale.
“Marc is one of those rare, multi-dimensional thinkers with the ability to evaluate complex relationships, markets and data,” Thompson said. “His experience and insight aligns well with the needs of a rapidly changing industry and a growing company like Verdesian.”
“Cultivating global relationships is crucial to developing a business strategy that delivers,” Treurniet said. “I’m thrilled to be joining the creative and innovative team leading Verdesian, and working closely with our partners to ensure only the best new products and services reach agricultural markets.”
Treurniet will begin work with Verdesian immediately and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Cary, North Carolina.
