In a move that underscores its ambitions in the North American seed market, DLF has announced that Matt Fanta will join the company as executive vice-president for North America, effective tomorrow.
Fanta is no stranger to the agri-food and seed sectors. With a career spanning more than two decades, he has built a reputation as a strategic leader who can scale complex businesses in highly competitive markets. Most recently, he served as president of Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition, where he oversaw the entire value chain with full P&L responsibility, steering the company through a period of growth and transformation.
Before that, Fanta spent 20 years at Land O’Lakes, taking on several senior leadership roles that positioned him at the intersection of innovation, global expansion, and operational excellence. His portfolio included serving as VP for Feed Marketing, VP for Asia/Pacific, and president of Forage Genetics International, where he helped drive strategic initiatives that strengthened the company’s presence in both domestic and international markets.
“Matt brings the right mix of strategic leadership, people focus, industry experience and deep understanding of the North American market,” said Søren Halbye, DLF Group CEO. “I’m confident he will be a strong asset to both the North American team and to DLF globally.”
The appointment comes as DLF continues to expand its footprint across North America, where market dynamics are evolving rapidly amid shifting climate conditions, emerging technologies, and a heightened focus on sustainable agriculture. Fanta’s leadership background suggests he’ll play a pivotal role in driving growth strategies, building stronger regional partnerships, and positioning DLF as a leader in seed innovation.
