Meet the people rewriting what’s possible in flower and vegetable seed.
Some of the most important advances in flower and vegetable seed begin with one person willing to try something different. The breeder who refuses to give up on a difficult challenge. The researcher whose discovery opens new possibilities. The innovator who finds a better way to produce, process or deliver seed. The leader who sees an opportunity others have missed.
We want to know who those people are.
This February, Seed World U.S. will introduce the 2027 Veg & Flower Difference Makers, recognizing individuals who are challenging assumptions, solving difficult problems and opening new possibilities for flower and vegetable seed in ways that are big and small.
Each Difference Maker will be featured in Seed World U.S., with a closer look at what they have accomplished, the challenges they have overcome and why their work matters to the wider industry.
Who Deserves a Place on That List?
From breeders tackling problems others haven’t solved to innovators finding better ways to produce seed, to people challenging long-held industry assumptions, we’re looking for individuals whose work is making a difference.
They might be established leaders, rising talents or the brilliant people working behind the scenes. They might have achieved something extraordinary, solved a stubborn problem or opened a door that others can now walk through.
Difference Makers don’t all make headlines. Some achieve major breakthroughs. Others find clever solutions to everyday challenges, improve the way things are done, strengthen the teams around them or help the next generation find its footing. Whether their contributions are big or small, we’re interested in the people who make the flower and vegetable sector better.
