CropLife America Names New President and CEO

Alex Dunn brings a wide range of experience to the role.

The CropLife America (CLA) board of directors announced Alexandra (Alex) Dunn as the new president and chief executive officer in a news release. Prior to joining CLA, Dunn served as a partner in the Environmental, Safety and Incident Response Group at Baker Botts, L.L.P., an international law firm based in Washington, D.C. During her tenure at Baker Botts, she worked on a range of issues including pesticide regulation, chemical management, water quality, enforcement, litigation, environmental justice and community engagement. In 2019, Dunn was confirmed by the U.S. Senate with bipartisan support to serve as Assistant Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, a position she held until 2021.

Andy Lee, CLA board chair and president and CEO of Valent North America, expressed his enthusiasm about Dunn’s appointment:

“The CLA Board of Directors is excited to have Alex Dunn as our next CEO,” Lee said. “As CLA members continue to innovate in response to challenges faced by growers, health officials and consumers, Alex’s expertise will provide valuable guidance and leadership in both policy and regulatory areas. We look forward to her contributions as she takes on this role.”

“I am truly honored to be named president and CEO of CLA,” Dunn said. “The leadership, members and staff of CLA are committed to sustainability, innovation, science and the protection of environmental and human health. It will be a privilege to work with them. CLA has been at the forefront of important agricultural discussions for over 90 years, and I am eager to contribute to agricultural solutions that benefit both the public and the planet at this crucial time.”
