Former Monsanto Executive Joins Inocucor Board

Inocucor Technologies, Inc., the Canadian agriculture biotech company that produces sustainable biological products, welcomed internationally recognized agronomist and former Monsanto executive Ted Crosbie to its board of directors.
“Ted’s recognized scientific intellect and deep connection to agronomy in the lab and in the field will add valuable expertise to Inocucor’s board, as we continue to pioneer and commercialize sustainable biological products for agriculture,” said Inocucor’s president and CEO Donald R. Marvin, a veteran of the North American bioscience industry.
Crosbie currently serves as chief technology officer and chair of the Iowa Innovation Council for the State of Iowa. He has led agronomic research and development programs for leading U.S. agriculture companies, including Monsanto. He led the formation of and managed one the world’s largest plant-breeding programs for a dozen years. Crosbie served in various roles at Monsanto, including VP of integrated farming systems and director of global wheat breeding from 1996 until his retirement in 2014.
From 1990 to 1995, he was president and CEO of ICI Seeds (aka Garst Seed) USA, which was acquired by Syngenta. Crosbie’s early career was spent as a plant breeding graduate faculty member in Iowa State University’s agronomy department.
“I was immediately attracted to Inocucor because its microbial consortia technology and strategy are so very different from others in the biologicals space,” Crosbie said. “The company’s data from various field and demonstration trials for row crops and high-value produce convinced me that Inocucor is on the right track in delivering a powerful sustainable solution for today’s farmers.”
Crosbie’s election to the Inocucor board follows the addition earlier this month of Bayer CropScience CEO Jim Blome as independent non-executive chairman of Inocucor’s board.
Inocucor produces biological soil, seed and plant accelerators that improve yields, speed maturation and promote healthier, more resilient soils and plants for organic farmers, greenhouse growers and mainstream production farmers. Its first product, Inocucor Garden Solution, is sold in Canada and 24 U.S. states and is OMRI Listed for use in organic production.
