California’s Pinnacle Seed welcomes Mike Koda to its team as manager of research and development. In this role, Koda will be responsible for the development of new high-yielding lettuce varieties.
Prior to joining Pinnacle Seed, Koda was seed production manager at Progeny Advanced Genetics and research associate at Plant Sciences, Inc.
”Mike is a tremendous asset to the continued long-term growth of Pinnacle Seed,” says Mike Vanoli, Pinnacle president, who launched the locally-owned produce genetics company in 2014. “His profound knowledge of seed production, product development and modern breeding techniques make him an integral part of Pinnacle Seed’s long-term goals for continued growth.”
Koda obtained his Bachelor of Science in crop science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in 2002 before completing a master’s level certificate program from the Plant Breeding Academy at the University of California, Davis.
“I’m excited to bring my industry knowledge and experience to the Pinnacle Seed team,” Koda says. “I look forward to contributing to a locally owned and operated company where our development and customer service happens directly in the field.”
