A perennial ryegrass blend called Pleasure is used on an Arizona golf course. This issue focused on the latest in environmental turf research and turfgrass seed markets. A resolution was presented at the 1982 annual meeting of the American Seed Trade Association — “Recommended Policies for the Release of Germplasm, Varieties and Related Technology from Public Institutions” recognized the strength of cooperative efforts by public and private breeders, and it outlined ways to enhance this relationship. Also that year, several turf-type tall fescue varieties were released.
