California Company BioConsortia will showcase its Always-N microbial seed treatment at the Euroseeds2026 Congress in Spain.
California-based BioConsortia is one of 10 finalists for the Euroseeds2026 InnovAction Stage competition.
The Davis agricultural biotechnology company will present Always-N, a microbial seed treatment designed to help crops access nitrogen more efficiently, during the Euroseeds2026 Congress Oct. 25–28 in Valencia, Spain.
Always-N uses nitrogen-fixing bacteria that colonize plant roots and convert atmospheric nitrogen into a form plants can use. The seed-applied biofertilizer aims to help growers maintain crop productivity while reducing reliance on synthetic nitrogen fertilizer.
BioConsortia develops microbial products for crop nutrition, plant health and pest management. The company focuses on identifying microbes that can remain stable during storage, withstand commercial seed treatment processes and perform consistently under field conditions.
The company has tested Always-N in the United States and several international markets. The technology has also entered the New Zealand market for maize, cereals, brassicas and pasture seed through a partnership with Hodder and Taylors Ltd.
This year’s InnovAction Stage theme is “From Kernel to Code: Innovations in Seed Treatment, Packaging, Labelling & Traceability.”
Finalists will present their technologies Oct. 26–27 and compete for recognition as the Euroseeds2026 InnovActor.
BioConsortia is the only U.S.-based company among this year’s finalists.
